Meeting that someone special

In your search for 'Miss/Mr. Right', you might have met many people. But how many of them fit into the picture of your 'ideal' mate? Probably very few. Or sometimes none! Occasionally, you may have met someone who appears very charming or attractive at the first instance, but when you get to know him/her better, you realize that he/she does not match your requirements. In a vast world flooded with people, how does one ever get to know who is the 'one' for him/her? Seeking that 'special someone' may require a great deal of patience and the sincerity of efforts on your part, but if you're determined to find your Mr. or Ms. Right, you definitely will. Here are a few tips to help you increase the possibilities of finding your 'perfect' life partner :

Decide what you want in a partner
Most people spend more time planning their vacations than they spend planning their lives! Before you begin your search, take time off your busy schedules and get into some serious thinking. After all, you're setting out to take the most important decision of your life! Know what you desire in your prospective spouse and what you expect out of this relationship.

Be aware of people around you
No matter how busy a person you are, do not loose track of the outside world. Be sensitive and keep your eyes open. You never know when you might bump into someone that fits your profile.

Increase your contacts
Don't act on presumptions or personal opinions. Don't discount any particular method of meeting other singles. You're going to need a large number of contacts to find the few that fit your requirements.

Dress appropriately
This doesn't mean that you always need to be dressed formally in a party wear. Just dress decently enough to look smart and tasteful.

Greet people
Practice greeting people at social gatherings. While at work, say hello to your colleagues and staff. When you bump into someone you know while in an elevator, or passing in the street, make eye contact and smile, and then say a polite "hello". This is great practice for when it will be needed.

Include your friends & family in your search
Let your friends and family know you're looking for your life mate. They may know someone socially or from work whom they think would suit your match requirements. Don't be too picky. You'd be surprised how well your friends know you!

Be open
Don't be self-conceited. Many people unconscientiously close themselves off to others by averting their eyes, crossing their arms, and turning themselves away. Be aware of your body language and use it to tell others that you're approachable.

Be alert
Sometimes looks may prove to be quite deceptive and the first impression may not essentially be the last impression. Be observant while communicating with people on the Internet. Trust your instincts and be sure of the relationship before getting emotionally involved with someone or giving away your personal information. Let it go slow and gradual. Remember there are no shortcuts in relationships.

You’ve waited for your Prince/Princess Charming for all these years. Wouldn’t you want it to be worth the wait?
